Carmen Arroyo

Carmen has been with PWP for over 12 years. For the last 8 years she has been the Controller, responsible for the financial operations of PWP including budgets, forecasts, and overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable. She works closely with Sandra Harris, Operations Manager, to control overhead costs. She is also responsible for working with the project managers in the billing process of client contracts. She graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2006 with a degree in Financial Accounting. 

Laurel Hunter

Laurel is a landscape designer with 13 years experience in the field of landscape architecture and planning. She has worked on many complex projects, including the 9/11 Memorial, and has a strong background in sustainable design and planting. Laurel has experience with a broad range project types and scales, including the design of corporate headquarters, campus master plans, civic spaces, streetscapes, hotels and resorts, and garden design. Laurel received her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University.

Justin Jackson

Justin is a licensed landscape architect with several years of experience in design and horticulture. His desire to create public spaces that connect people to their landscape is heavily influenced by his passion for plants and interest in place-based design. Combining his background in both design and public horticulture, Justin is interested in the reclamation of ecological systems and creating spaces that add social, economic and environmental value to the urban landscape. Justin recieved a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and an Master of Landscape Architecture, with distinction, from Harvard University.

Cornelia Roppel

Since 2003, Cornelia has coordinated complex, large scale national and international projects for PWP from beginning to end. She brings both design and management skills to long-term projects in the master-planning, schematic and design development phases. She has the ability to carry projects from vision to detailed design so that it is coherently ready for the construction document phase. And she is particularly interested in creating spaces to work and rest in. Before coming to PWP, she began her career in Germany where she worked for such distinguished employers as Latz-Riehl Partner in Kassel, Germany, and has taught Vectorworks at the University of California and University of Kassel.

Steve Tycz

Steve is a licensed landscape architect with over 17 years of professional experience working on a variety of projects ranging in scale and complexity including university campuses, public parks, urban plazas, and streetscapes. His avid interest in how things are built has led to his focus on construction documentation and construction phase services. Steve has been engaged in the design, documentation, and construction at Glenstone for more than six years, which includes the development/renovation of the 230-acre museum campus, and installation of more the 6000 trees. He received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Connecticut and prior to joining PWP worked with The SWA Group and Martha Schwartz Inc. 

Monica Way

Monica is a Senior Associate and the Director of Business Development for PWP. She is a Bay Area native with 17 years' experience in the design industry. Her cross-disciplinary work is motivated by a deep interest in the interactions of art, ecology, technology, and social justice. Monica previously directed online communications and outreach for the San Francisco City Planning Department, and in 2007, co-founded an online marketing firm creating digital experiences for Fortune 500 companies. She is the recipient of numerous awards including UC Berkeley's Geradline Knight Scott Fellowship, an ASLA Honor Award in Communications, and a 'Bright Ideas in Government' Award from the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University for her collaborative work on the San Francisco Property Information Map. Monica earned a B.A. in history and social change from New College, and an M.L.A. from UC Berkeley.
